About us

Charles and Dianne Phelps have lived along the South Holston River at Country View Farm for more than 20 years. Our farm specializes in beef cattle and hay production. We love the outdoors and enjoy hosting folks, and telling the story of Northeast Tennessee.

THE FARM

Country View Farm is a third-generation beef cattle operation that was initially purchased by Charles' father, W.H. Phelps, in the 1960s. A former tobacco operation the farm now expands into grass-fed beef and hay production. Sticking true to family tradition, the original tractor used to run the farm in the 1960s still remains on the property after restoration.

VACATION RENTALS

Charles and Dianne opened Country View Retreat in the spring of 2020 with the cabin, followed by the lodge in the spring of 2021. Since then, they've been welcoming guests from across the country in search of brown trout, seclusion, and time with family and friends in the Appalachian Mountains.

As your hosts, it’s our goal to make your stay as comfortable as it can possibly be. You have full access to the property, land around it, and riverfront property (spans all the way down the road adjacent to the farm/black fence). Our mission is to help our guests create beautiful memories with our cozy cabin and lodge.

For an optimal experience for us both, we’ve spelled out some house rules. Thank you in advance!
